What we do

TES has been running at Trinity for over twenty years. We are the bridge between students and the Dublin startup, venture capital and technology scene — and we encourage students from every faculty to get involved, not just business and engineering.

We teach it

Every week through Michaelmas term, founders, operators and investors come in and talk about how building a company actually goes. Past speakers have run LinkedIn Ireland, led platform at Dogpatch Labs, and founded companies from a Trinity bedroom.

We help you build it

The Incubator takes students with no idea and no technical background through a full year — co-founder matching, mentorship, up to €1,000 in funding, and two demo days. Most people who join arrive without a business.

We put you on a stage

Dragons’ Den is Ireland’s largest student pitch competition. Alongside it we run the Hult Prize regional qualifier, send teams to the Venture Capital Investment Competition, and hold pitching nights where the barrier to entry is showing up.

Our programmes

  • Dragons’ Den

Ireland’s largest student pitch competition. Student teams pitch to a panel of judges for a share of a €5,000 prize pool.

Applications open in February. Event held in March.

  • Incubator

A year-long programme that takes you from no idea at all to a working startup, with up to €1,000 in funding and mentorship throughout.

    Applications open in late September.

  • EduProgram

    Runs weekly through November.

    More about EduProgram
  • TES Talks

Standalone evenings with founders, investors and operators — the people who have actually built the things students are trying to build.

At least four a year, two per semester.
